Restoration and Repair:
We can repair most forms of physical damage and age-related deterioration. It is even possible to replace missing areas or transplant missing facial features from another photo of the same person. The Photo Dr. can also scan, restore and digitally archive and entire collection of old photographs. Once stored digitally, your precious images will no longer be subject to continued fading and deterioration. Remember, all traditional print photos will continue to deteriorate with time. With a digital copy on CD or DVD, you can preserve your memories indefinitely, and print them any time you wish.
Torn Photos Mended:
This old photo was in poor shape. We scanned the two halves of the photo and merged them digitally. Some facial reconstruction was required, but the damage was not serious enough to present a problem. The original was covered with stains and orange mold which was needed digital retouching. The photography also showed the first signs of fading so a multi-zone contrast adjustment was also done to correct this problem.
Creases and Folds Smoothed:
There were numerous creases and folded corners on this picture. The photo was retouched to eliminate the damage. A contrast adjustment was also done to repair the fading, and retinting was performed for black and white (a different tint could just as easily have been chosen - it is completely a matter of preference). The restoration was finished with digital sharpening.
Discolored and Faded Photo Revitalization:
This Image had developed a yellow-green discoloration after storage for many years. Contrast and color adjustment with sharpening were all that was needed in this case.
Scratches, Stains and surface damage:
The photo was covered in small scratches and had a number of small stains. A simple retouching was done to cover the scratches, and the tint was set to a lighter tone.
Fogged fading repaired:
This picture was badly faded and discolored. Several layers of contrast and color adjustment were applied to correct the damage.
